The Snails Pace.
Gary the snail began to climb straight up a wall. The wall was made of bricks and was exactly 24 bricks high. Gary climbed up three bricks each day. At night poor old Gary would slide back two bricks.
How many days did it take Gary to reach the top of the wall?
I have had a go at solving this problem but I'm sure there must be a quicker way of doing it than what I have done. My strategy took quite a bit of time. I'd love to hear how R21 children have solved this problem.
